Nigeria Congratulates Botswana on Independence Anniversary
The Federal Republic of Nigeria has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Government and people of Botswana as the country marks its Independence Anniversary.
In a goodwill message on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, conveyed Nigeria’s warm wishes to his counterpart, His Excellency Dr. Lemogang Kwape, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Botswana.
Ambassador Tuggar praised Botswana’s enduring legacy of peace, democracy, and socio-economic progress, noting that Nigeria joins in celebrating the milestone of sovereignty and nationhood with the Southern African country.
“The cordial bilateral relations between Nigeria and Botswana, rooted in shared values, mutual respect, and a common vision for Africa’s development, remain a source of pride and a beacon of partnership on the continent,” Tuggar stated.
He reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening ties with Botswana in critical areas such as trade, education, governance, innovation, and continental integration, particularly within the framework of the African Union and other multilateral platforms.
Nigeria also commended Botswana’s steadfast dedication to good governance, sustainable development, and regional stability, expressing hope for deeper collaboration to advance the prosperity and well-being of both nations.
