Police Arrest Eight Suspected Cultists, Armed Robbers in Ikorodu

Eight suspected cultists and armed robbers have been arrested by operatives of the Lagos State Police Command during a targeted early morning raid in the Odogunyan area of Ikorodu.

The suspects were apprehended on Tuesday, October 15, 2025, around 5:30 a.m., following credible intelligence gathered by the Command. The operation was carried out by the Bullock Tactical Team, who stormed the suspected hideout where the group was allegedly planning coordinated criminal activities.

Those arrested include Fadiya Ayodele (27), Lawal Rasheed (28), Akerele Demilare (27), Alimi Victor (23), Okiki Alufoge (25), Nurudeen Dolapo (25), Agboola Samuel (25), and Ayolade Victor (25).

Items recovered from the scene include a Nigerian military camouflage uniform, a battle axe, an assault dagger, several charms, and counterfeit U.S. currency amounting to $3,000 in $100 bills.

Police sources said preliminary interrogation revealed that Fadiya Ayodele is the leader of the Eiye Confraternity operating in the area. He reportedly confessed to handing over a locally made pistol to one Adewunmi Annadex, who is currently on the run. Authorities say efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspect and recover the firearm.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Olohundare Jimoh, commended the tactical team for their swift and professional execution of the operation. He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to maintaining security across the state and warned that criminal elements would be met with the full force of the law.

Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity to security agencies promptly.
